Apple is set to shake up the global market this year with its iPhone 17 series. That lineup will likely include the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Ultra. While we don’t know the details yet, leaks have given us a pretty good idea of what to expect from the iPhone 17 Pro camera.
Word is that the iPhone 17 Pro will feature a 48MP triple camera setup—including a 48MP telephoto lens. That should give you enhanced portrait photography, better low-light performance and a more powerful zoom. (If those rumors are true, that is.)
One of the most interesting camera details comes from tipster Majin Bu. Apple is reportedly replacing the 12MP telephoto lens in the iPhone 16 Pro with a new 48MP telephoto camera sensor. That 85mm lens (in 35mm terms) could reduce the optical zoom from 5x to 3.5x. But Apple is also introducing a 7x lossless digital zoom via in-sensor crop technology. That should improve low-light performance, as higher-resolution cameras can capture more light and produce sharper, brighter images. You can also expect 8K video recording support. (That feature is already available on many Android devices.)
The other sensors on the iPhone 17 Pro are said to be a 48MP primary shooter and a 48MP ultrawide camera. That should give you an even better photography experience.
The iPhone 17 Pro is expected to launch in September this year, alongside other devices in global markets—including India. As for the exact release date, that remains under wraps.
Leaks also suggest the iPhone 17 Pro will cost around Rs 1,19,900. But with all the features Apple might be packing in, that price could go up.
