Goodbye Screen Flicker: How the google Pixel 10 Series Could End a Pixel User’s Longest Nightmare

Google Pixel 10: Google is working to resolve long-term screen flickering issues due to low PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) dimming on Google Pixel smartphones. The update is scheduled to be issued alongside the forthcoming Pixel 10 series, which will arrive in August 2025. If confirmed, this may be excellent news for Pixel users.

While the Pixel 9 series has been praised for its AI capabilities, performance, and display quality, particularly in color accuracy and readability, its low PWM rate puts it behind competitors. This slight, quick change in brightness might affect users who are sensitive to flickering, making the increase an important improvement for display health.

Google Pixel 10 series’ new display

According to Android Central, Google is planning a new display improvement that will considerably minimize flicker, making screen usage more comfortable for the eyes. If carried out, this would be one of the most anticipated hardware enhancements to the Pixel line in years, particularly among customers who have complained about eye strain.

Google has not officially verified the new display function, but it is likely to use either higher-frequency PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) dimming or enhanced OLED screen technology to reduce eye strain.

Google Pixel 10 Pro: Likely design and specs

The Google Pixel 10 Pro is expected to have the same design as the Google Pixel 9 Pro. The Google Pixel 10 series is packed with a 6.3-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Google Pixel 10 may have a new Tensor G5 processor with up to 16GB of RAM.

The Pixel 10 Pro is expected to contain triple rear cameras: first is a 50-megapixel primary sensor, second camera a 48-megapixel telephoto lens, and third camera a 48-megapixel ultrawide camera. Google Pixel 10 may be compatible with an operating system (OS) Android 16. Furthermore, Pixel 10 may offer faster wired and wireless charging.
