Kawasaki KLX230 Slashes Price to Rs 1.99 Lakh, Challenges Hero Xpulse 210

Price Slashed for Indian Riders: Kawasaki India has made waves by dropping the KLX230’s price to Rs 1.99 lakh, ex-showroom, a massive Rs 1.33 lakh reduction from its earlier Rs 3.33 lakh tag. This bold move, driven by local manufacturing, positions the KLX230 as a direct rival to the Hero Xpulse 210. The price cut makes this dual-sport motorcycle a compelling choice for adventure enthusiasts seeking affordability without compromising capability.

Power and Performance

The Kawasaki KLX230 retains its robust 233cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine, delivering 19 hp at 8,000 rpm and 19 Nm at 6,000 rpm, paired with a six-speed gearbox. Weighing just 139 kg, it offers superior agility compared to the heavier 170 kg Xpulse 210. Its high-tensile steel frame, 37mm telescopic forks, and preload-adjustable monoshock ensure excellent handling on rugged trails.

Design and Features

Sporting a sleek, rugged design in Lime Green or Battle Grey, the Kawasaki KLX230 features a 7.6-litre fuel tank, LED headlamp, and an LCD cluster with Bluetooth connectivity. The updated MY26 model includes single-channel ABS and slightly reduced suspension travel for refined control. Its 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoke wheels provide 265mm ground clearance, ideal for off-road adventures.

Competing with Xpulse 210

The Hero Xpulse 210, priced at Rs 1.76-1.86 lakh, boasts a 210cc liquid-cooled engine with 24.8 bhp, but its heavier build may lag on extreme trails. Kawasaki’s aggressive pricing and lightweight advantage make the KLX230 a formidable competitor, appealing to both seasoned riders and newcomers seeking thrilling, budget-friendly off-road experiences.
